Acts 19:2 *“Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” he asked them. “No,” they replied, “we haven’t even heard that there is a Holy Spirit*” (NLT)
*THE PERSON OF THE HOLY SPIRIT* (e)
Often, we underestimate the work of the Holy Spirit. He wants rich fellowship with us to a point where His personality will not be in doubt but we are not available or sensitive to this.
Several times, I have heard some believers say things like: "Something told me not to board that bus" or they say it like this, "Something within me disagrees with what He said". In all these, they did not recognize it was the Holy Spirit at work.
It is an insult to call the Holy Spirit of God 'something'. Only those that have not walked with Him to recognise His ministry regard Him as 'something'. Despite our insensitivity to His presence and work in our lives, He is still drawing closer daily so we can have a rich fellowship with Him.
*V.HE LEADS AND GUIDES*
John 16:13 says, *"When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future*" ( NLT)
Because He is a person with divine insight into God's plans and purposes for our lives, He leads and guides us. At every point in time when we are at a cross road, the Holy Spirit is ever willing to lead and guide us.
One of the reasons He was sent to us is to guide and lead us. Humanly, we don't know all things and our knowledge is limited because of the mystery behind spiritual things as regards our lives.
For instance, as a single, you may be surrounded with wonderful singles who have prospect to become your spouse but only God knows the very one that is suitable for your life and destiny. You will need the leading of the Spirit to make the right choice.
Even in ministry, no one can get it right without the Holy Spirit. Some are called to field ministry as evangelist and missionaries but they are stationary doing pastoral work. It takes the leading and guidance of the Spirit to know the exact area of ministry God want an individual to function.
Acts 13:2 says, *"One day as these men were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Appoint Barnabas and Saul for the special work to which I have called them*"( NLT)
It was the Holy Spirit that appointed Barnabas and Saul into apostolic (missions) ministry. They did not just wake up and call themselves. No one can get it right in ministry without the Holy Spirit. He is not a "chaotic" person. He wants to lead you into all truths about your life and destiny.
Today, I want you to submit all the areas of your life to Him and allow Him lead you.
Holy Spirit, my heart is open to your leading, lead and guide me(...mention it) in the name of Jesus Christ.
