FOR THE SAKE OF YOUR SALVATION

May 19, 2016 · Lanre Oyeleke · 131 views

1Tim4:16 Keep a close watch on how you live and on your teaching. Stay true to what is right for the sake of your own salvation and the salvation of those who hear you. NLT

We have received a precious salvation from the Lord by grace through faith In Christ Jesus. The finished work of Christ on the cross remains the background or foundation of our salvation and not our works because it is a gift from the Lord.

Now, if you have a gift that is so precious to you or a gift item that cannot be bought in the market, what would you do? I believe you will treasure it and keep it so that you don't lose it or make a mess of it. Paul advised Timothy to stay true to what is right for the sake of his salvation and others. Do you know that there are a lot of people looking-up to you as their mentor in the faith? If you fail God, they may fall away from God.

Stay true to what is right for yourself and for the sake of others. Salvation is not on auto drive, you have a role to play in ensuring that your life matches with your status as a Christian. Yóu don't just come to the cross and get saved without giving a thought to your ways after. Stay true to what is right.

Action point

Father, I receive grace to stay true to what is right In Jesus name. Amen
